DA is following the same path that all the big networking sites (have done in the past and) are doing now. Upgrading their site to keep their customers happy instead of fixing the problems that are already there.
The Llama Badge concept seem to have distracted most from the site's problems for a while, maybe they are looking for a permanent "adhesive strip" (Band-Aid is a brand name) to cover up their problems.
